The Science

Your phone is always on. So is our shielded brief.

Every Eswear brief carries a three-layer panel with a stainless steel core, built to reflect the radio-frequency energy your phone sends out while it sits in your pocket.

01 · The problem

The pocket is the closest your phone gets to you all day.

Phones constantly check in with cell towers and Wi-Fi, even when idle. Manufacturers test their exposure limits with the phone held some distance from the body, yet most men carry theirs in a front trouser pocket with only a thin layer of cotton between the device and the groin.

02 · How it works

Three layers. One job.

The shielded panel works on the Faraday principle: a conductive surface reflects electromagnetic waves instead of letting them pass. We place it only across the pouch and front pocket zone, so the rest of the brief stays plain, breathable modal.

  1. 01

    Outer · Modal jersey

The surface you see and feel. 90% modal, 10% elastane for softness and recovery.

  2. 02

    Core · Stainless steel mesh

Fine stainless steel fibers knitted into a flexible, conductive mesh. Reflects RF energy outward and keeps its shielding wash after wash.

  3. 03

    Inner · Modal lining

Keeps the steel layer off your skin. Soft, breathable modal against the body.

Questions

Does it affect my phone signal?

No. The shielded panel sits between your phone and your body, not around the phone. Signal to the tower is unaffected.

Does the shielding wash out?

No. The steel fibers are knitted into the mesh, not printed or coated on. Lab tests show shielding retained after 100+ washes. Wash cold and use the mesh wash bag to protect the panel.

Is the steel layer safe against the skin?

The steel layer never touches you — it sits between the modal outer and a modal lining. The fabric is OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified.

Why only the front panel?

That's where your phone sits. Shielding the whole garment would make it warmer and stiffer without adding meaningful protection, so the rest stays plain, breathable cotton.
